2. Arthur Ashe

•  Won an individual championship and NCAA team championship with UCLA in 1965; won 3 majors including the 1968 US Open and 1975 Wimbledon .

•  Leader and advocate for racial equality and founded the Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health, to help address issues of inadequate health care delivery.

•  Elected to the Tennis Hall of Fame in 1985 and was named Sports Illustrated magazine's Sportsman of the Year in 1992.
